A MAID who was allegedly killed by her British "lover" at a waterfall in Hong Kong died the day before she was due to fly home, her family say.
Mevi Novitasari's relatives will lay her to rest this week while police continue to investigate businessman Jamie Chapman, 34, who has been held over her alleged murder.
The body of mum Mevi, 25, was repatriated to her home in Indonesia this weekend after she was found dead at the bottom of the waterfall.
Speaking to the Mirror from the remote Indonesian village of Bulaksari, Mevi's mother Manisem, 60, blasted claims her daughter leapt to her death.
She said: "I am angry because my daughter is a victim. There's no way it was suicide. She was a good girl who had too much to live for." She added Mevi had been due to fly back home to Central Java just 24 hours after she died.
