Inquest hears from dad of Emily, 15, killed in speedboat horror

THE father of a girl who died when a speedboat hit a 15ft buoy has told an inquest her death was "nothing short of devastating".

Simon Lewis said he was heartbroken he would never see his daughter Emily grow up.

The 15-year-old suffered fatal chest injuries after a speedboat the family were on ploughed into a metal buoy.

The inquest yesterday addressed safety procedures that were not adhered to by boating firm Seadogz RIB Charter Limited.

After it emerged the speedboat had been involved in three similar accidents in the years before Emily's death, the teen's family called for more regulation in the boating industry to help prevent future tragedies.
