Dennis helps Verstappen as Red Bull's simulator driver and now wants his very own world title

JAKE DENNIS is Max Verstappen's secret weapon - but this weekend he is poised to become world champion in his own right.

Dennis heads into the season-ending London E-Prix double-header with a 24-point lead over Nick Cassidy.

And Dennis can call on the support of two-time F1 champ Verstappen. Dennis has been the simulator driver for Red Bull since 2018.

"He follows Formula E in general," Dennis said of Verstappen. "He follows every motorsport, he's crazy about it.

"When I finished my rookie season, we were at the gala in Paris, after he won the championship and I finished third in Formula E.

"He was clued-in with what had happened. He's a motorsport fanatic and he can't get enough of it.

"We spoke a lot more when the Red Bull car wasn't great.

"I was there doing the simulator work, trying to make the car better, and he gives me input on what he thinks of the car from a driver's perspective.
