Life for wife who killed husband in dinner row

A WOMAN who stabbed her husband to death during a row while cooking dinner has been sentenced to life with a minimum term of nine years.

Teresa Hanson, 54, fatally wounded construction manager Paul, also 54, with a kitchen knife three days after Christmas last year.

During her trial it was claimed he was stabbed after she tried to get him to eat something before having any more to drink.

Her trial heard her husband shouted in her face to "throw his f***ing tea in the bin".

The former hairdresser, from West Cowick, East Yorks, denied murder and claimed she had pushed him away while holding a knife.

The jury heard that she told 999 call operators she stabbed him after a row but later told police he had walked on to her knife.
