Saints boss won't go changing his tactics for anyone after Murphy's drop jibe

RUSSELL MARTIN has hit back at claims by former England midfielder Danny Murphy that Southampton will be relegated if he does not change his playing style.

Match of the Day pundit Murphy (circle) suggested Saints would suffer the same fate as Vincent Kompany's Burnley last season if they persist with trying to play out from the back.

But Martin, whose side have lost all three of their league games, scored only one goal and conceded five, has promised to block out the negative noise ahead of tomorrow's clash with Manchester United.

The Saints boss said: "I don't feel any different when I'm stood on the sideline, it feels the same as when I was at MK Dons.

"It's just the level of competition that's different and I'm really enjoying it.
