FRANKIE MacRitchie's grieving family have told how they relive the anguish of his horrific death with every new killer dog attack.
And his devastated dad Billy is backing the Mirror's campaign to change the law on dangerous pets.
Frankie was nine when killed by a dog belonging to his mum's friend.
His mum had left him alone with the seven-stone American bulldog/Stafford-shire bull terrier cross in a caravan.
Speaking for the first time since the youngster's death in 2019, Billy, 36, said: "There has to be change. I don't want to see another child die needlessly at the hands of careless adults and dangerous dogs.
"I don't want another family living the nightmare my family and I live every day of our lives.
"Frankie didn't stand a chance. Our only hope is that his tragic death wasn't for nothing and it may help save other children."
Frankie's aunt Danielle MacRitchie added: "It's horrendous. When will it stop? We thought Frankie's death might make a difference but the amount of dog attacks is triple what it was before. Every time it happens again, it rips us apart.
"How many more people need to die? If people knew the hell we've been through it would stop.
