Stand-in Warrington coach and former teacher Gary is shocked to get nod but expects Wolves pride to get them back on track

FORMER teacher Gary Chambers admits being made Warrington's interim head coach came "out of the blue".

But he has vowed to get A-plus performances out of their badly misfiring stars.

Wolves' head of youth, who played more than 200 times for the club before becoming a deputy head, takes charge as they host leaders Catalans tomorrow night.

It comes just five days after a shocking 42-6 loss at Wakefield (above, right) that led to boss Daryl Powell being sacked.

Many thought ex-Halifax head coach Richard Marshall, who assisted Powell, would step up as the club seeks a replacement, with former St Helens chief Justin Holbrook still the clear favourite.
