Meronk admits he was 'shocked sad and angry' after being snubbed for Ryder Cup despite winning at Italian venue in May 

ADRIAN MERONK was left "shocked, sad and angry" by his Ryder Cup snub.

The Polish ace was overlooked for a Rome wildcard by Europe captain Luke Donald (below), who picked Shane Lowry despite the Irishman being out of form.

Meronk won his third DP World Tour title in the space of 10 months at May's Italian Open, which was staged at the Marco Simone course the Ryder Cup venue.

The 30-year-old also finished fifth on the European Points list, 201 places above rookie pick Nicolai Hojgaard.

Then in last week's final qualifying event in Switzerland Meronk finished 13th and was expecting good news when he received the call from Donald while on a train to Geneva.
