SHE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN JAILED

A PARTIALLY-blind pedestrian jailed for causing the death of a cyclist had her conviction quashed.

Auriol Grey, 50, told retired midwife Celia Ward, 77, to "get off the f***ing pavement". Mrs Ward fell into the road and was fatally hit in October 2020 by a VW Tiguan unable stop in time.

Ms Grey, who has cerebral palsy after being brain damaged at birth, was convicted of manslaughter in March 2023 and jailed for three years.

But three Appeal Court judges have overturned her conviction.
