WHEN Paul Rowley took over at Salford last season, his first job was to get his players suited and booted.
A club who had finished second-bottom of Super League in 2021 was in dire need of a lift and former Leigh and Toronto boss Rowley provided it.
His low-budget side reached the 2022 play-offs where they dumped out big-spending Huddersfield before losing narrowly to eventual champions. St Helens in the semi-finals.
Heading into Saturday's Magic Weekend clash with Hull KR, Rowley's Reds are in the top six again despite their precarious financial position.
Cash is tight at Salford but head coach Rowley said: "The very first thing I did was to get all the players and staff wearing suits to games.
"In life you don't need loads of money to dress smart, stick your chest out and walk tall.
