RELATIVES of those on board the missing Titanic tourist sub were last night facing an agonising wait for news as the hunt for the vessel continued.
The Mirror was at the Newfoundland harbour town where Titan set sail on its ill-fated trip to the sunken liner, and where the distraught families are believed to be.
Three Brits, Hamish Harding, 58, Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his 19-year-old son Suleman, are on the vessel along with French pilot Paul-Henry Nargeolet, 73, and boss of the tour firm, Stockton Rush, 61.
But fears were growing for their safety as experts warned oxygen will be running out, they may too deep to rescue and the sub may have imploded under the pressure.
STOCKTON RUSH, 61
CEO of OceanGate, a private company that chartered a trip to explore the Titanic wreckage on June 18.
He co-founded the firm in 2009 and has been on the Board of Trustees of OceanGate Foundation since 2012. At 19, Stockton became the world's youngest jet transport-rated pilot after obtaining his DC-8 Type/Captain's rating in 1981.
He has a BSE in Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
The company's website says: "Rush oversees OceanGate's financial and engineering strategies and provides a clear vision for the development of 4,000 metre (13,123 feet) and 6,000 metre (19,685 feet) capable crewed submersibles and their partner launch and recovery platforms which make OceanGate Inc the leading provider of crewed submersibles for charter and scientific research."
HAMISH HARDING, 58
