BRITISH police are investigating whether the body of a boy found in Germany is missing Ben Needham.
Ben's mother Kerry has been searching for her 21-month-old son ever since he vanished from the Greek island of Kos on a holiday in 1991.
Last week Kerry, 51, alerted officers in the UK to an Interpol appeal to identify a child's body found in the river Danube in Germany over a year ago.
Now forensics experts have been called in to examine his remains. They do not believe the boy is German.
And South Yorkshire Police told the Mirror it will look into whether the body found could be Ben.
Kerry said: "I'm pleased they are looking into it. Every possibility has to be investigated and ruled out.
"Our hope is that one day, one piece of information will come forward which will uncover the truth.
The boy, believed to be aged five or six, was discovered by a canoeist in Grossmehring, Bavaria, in May 2022.
