LAURA Perkins will forever be haunted by the memory of mum Joanne's dying weeks, as painful tumours broke through her neck.

And as MPs prepare to vote on the Assisted Dying Bill today, she urged them to pass the law to stop others suffering agonising, lingering deaths.

Joanna, 72, was diagnosed with incurable ovarian cancer in 2018. It spread to her liver and another tumour was found on her tongue.

Doctors said it was more humane to die of liver cancer than mouth, so they concentrated on the latter.

But in the her final weeks, pus began oozing from Joanna's neck.
