WIL POWERS INTO LEAD

JAK JONES has been criticised over his slow play - but he was blitzed in the opening session of this year's World Championship final.

The Welsh qualifier, 30, suffered from the worst start in a Crucible showpiece since Jimmy White against John Parrott in 1991 as he fell 7-0 behind to Kyren Wilson.

And the world No.44 needs a Dennis Taylor-esque miracle to get his hands on the trophy tonight.

Warrior Wilson, who was left heartbroken when he lost the 2020 showpiece to Ronnie O'Sullivan, was halfway there at 9-3 ahead when the players went to the mid-session interval last night.
