Brave race to remember little Alice, Elsie, Bebe
TORN apart by grief, Sergio Aguiar and David Stancombe were driven by a desire to honour the memory of their girls as they faced a gruelling marathon.
And the two determined dads did their shattered community proud after pushing through the pain to finish the London race and raise cash to give other kids a brighter future.
It came less than a year after daughters Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Aguiar, nine - along with six-year-old Bebe King - were stabbed to death by Southport maniac Axel Rudakubana.
David, Sergio and members of Alice and Bebe's school had raised cash for various projects, as they channelled their grief and loss into making life better for others on a record breaking day for both the London and Manchester marathons. It included £343,000 TON for a new playground, headed by Sergio.
The pair were joined by a host of celebs running, including former England and Chelsea captain John Terry, Chris Evans, Jenni Falconer and Joel Dommett, who collapsed near the end but finished.
