Schauffele's father reveals no amount of cash will tempt new US PGA champ to join the Saudi-backed tour

US PGA champion Xander Schauffele will not sign for LIV Golf - even if the Saudis "throw hundreds of millions of dollars at him", according to his father.

The American set a new Major scoring record of 21-under par to beat LIV star Bryson DeChambeau to end an eventful week in Valhalla in dramatic style.

For so long the Majors nearly man, the Olympic champion is now an even bigger target for the breakaway tour, with the Saudi Public Investment Fund yet to strike a deal with the PGA Tour.

Jon Rahm signed in December when he was the reigning Masters champion and Schauffele's FrenchGerman father and first coach Stefan (above) admitted talks had taken place.

But he insisted the latest Major champion and new world No.2 ahead of Rory McIlroy - will not be defecting. "The opposite would probably be closer to the truth," he said. "No chance.
