The controversial MP last night insisted he would not apologise after he had the Conservative whip suspended for saying London Mayor Sadiq Khan is controlled by "Islamists".
The PM said yesterday he did not believe the MP was racist but admitted his remarks were "not acceptable". He told ITV Calendar: "I don't believe Lee is a racist or an Islamophobic person but the comments were wrong.
