ANAS Sarwar has made a direct appeal to SNP supporters to vote Labour at the general election to boot out the Tories.
He said Scotland would be at the "heart" of a UK Labour government and promised lower energy bills and a workers' rights revolution.
Sarwar made the call in his keynote speech on the first day of Scottish Labour's conference in Glasgow.
His party's poll rating has soared over the past 12 months and Labour strategists believe they could win more seats than the SNP.
Serwer who got a standing ovation, repeated his opposition to indyref2 but addressed disaffected nationalist voters.
He said: "I don't care how you voted in the past. I don't care how you voted in either referendum. I don't support independence and I don't support another referendum.
"But I understand why people want to run a million miles away from this rotten Tory government. So while we may disagree on the final destination for Scotland, I believe we can all agree we need change right now.
