OWEN DODGSON insists the success of Owen Beck will push him to match those levels or to have even more success at Dundee.

The left-back came in on loan from Burnley to replace the Welshman who was recalled by Liverpool after a stunning first half of the season at Dens Park.

Dodgson, who is likely to make his Premiership debut against Hearts tonight, is looking to make his own mark at Tayside before he returns for his own Premier League push with the Clarets.

He said: “All the coaching staff and lads spoke highly of him [Beck].

“I am not going to let that get in my head, in terms of hearing somebody has done well. I will focus on myself and doing well. Hopefully, I will do as well as him or even better, if I can, for the club and fans.”
