ANGE POSTECOGLOU has led the backlash against blue cards and warned sin bins will "destroy" football.

Lawmakers IFAB will meet next month and propose trials of players at grassroots level being shown blue cards, meaning they would be banished to the sidelines for 10 minutes if caught time-wasting or making tactical fouls.

Sin bins are certainly in the pipeline and could even be trialled in the FA Cup in the next couple of seasons.

But Tottenham boss Postecoglou led a chorus of revolt against blue cards and the outcry from fans also appeared to put IFAB on the back foot - with it now being stressed any trial would be at a low level.

Postecoglou, whose Spurs side face Brighton today, said: "There's a remedy for dissent already.
