Pal says cops warned man linked to Bells shooting probe of threat to his life

Daniel got letter from police and vanished 4 days later

A DAD of two linked to the probe into an alleged Case ec gangland shooting received a "threat to life" warning from police days before he vanished.

Daniel Fraser was missing for five weeks before his body was discovered by volunteer divers in Musselburgh Lagoons in East Lothian last month.

The 35-year-old, from Drylaw in Edinburgh, was last seen on January 7 after a night out in Musselburgh.

He disappeared just a week after Marc Webley was shot to death outside a pub shortly before the Bells on Hogmanay.

Officers had been probing links between Daniel and Webley when he disappeared after a night out with one of Webley's sworn enemies.

Despite friends of Daniel revealing details about the Osman threat-to-life letter sent by police, officers say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and his grieving family held a funeral service on Friday.
