Jones says Scots will relish hostile atmosphere

HUW JONES is confident Scotland won't be intimidated by the Welsh crowd on Saturday as they chase a first win in Cardiff since 2002.

The Scots did win on Welsh soil in 2020 but that was at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli and behind closed doors because of the pandemic.

The 74,500-capacity Principality Stadium has one of the most passionate and partisan crowds in world rugby and Wales players often talk of the massive lift that gives them.

But Glasgow centre Jones reckons Gregor Townsend's side can use it to their advantage.

He said: "When you play in packed stadiums away from home, you need to embrace it. We talk about silencing the crowd but it often doesn't happen.

"But you can use it to spur you on. At the end of the day, it's just noise I don't think that it makes too much of a difference.

"If you've done your prep and you execute, the crowd can't stop you from scoring.
