CHEMICALS that can take more than 1000 years to break down have been found in common fruits, vegetables and spices.
The group of about 10,000 “forever chemicals” has sparked alarm over the potential impact on public health.
PFAS – per- or poly-fluorinated alkyl substances – are linked to cancer, liver problems, thyroid issues, birth defects, kidney disease, decreased immunity and other health problems.
