Man, 61, held by cops after victim left 'bleeding and unconscious'

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run that left a woman critical in hospital.

Footage of the incident, some of which is too graphic to share, shows a 63-year-old woman apparently hit by a silver car in Muirhouse Parkway in Edinburgh on Sunday afternoon.

The vehicle appears to drive towards the victim as she walks with another woman.

The woman then lands on the car bonnet before being dragged onto a pathway.

She is later seen lying on the ground as the car can be drives away.

Another woman can be seen rushing to help.

One woman trying to help the victim could be seen jumping out of the way of the car. She appears to be visibly distressed.
