Victim's son slams 'sick coward' uncle who murdered his dad and girlfriend

A DOUBLE killer chillingly told his nephew "I'll be getting the jail soon," before brutally murdering his own brother.

Peter Duffy, 47, made the horrifying statement to his nephew, John Paul, days before the bodies of his two victims were discovered in separate properties in Coatbridge.

One of his victims was John Paul's dad, John Paul Duffy Snr.

The 51-year-old had been struck with an axe and repeatedly stabbed by younger brother Peter, 47, before he left his body to rot in his home in the town's High Coats area.

When police attended John Paul Snr's home to carry out a welfare check on April 10, 2022, they discovered John Paul's dead cat in a pool of blood in the hallway of the flat before finding Peter Duffy asleep on a sofa in the living room.

Just moments later, officers discovered John Paul's body under a pile of rubbish on another chair in the room.
