VILJAMI SINISALO has told Brendan Rodgers he's ready to be Celtic No.1 for the business end of the season.

The Hoops boss is still sweating on Kasper Schmeichel's shoulder scan - which could rule the great Dane out for the rest of the campaign.

Finnish international Sinisalo stepped up on Saturday for his Premiership debut and kept a clean sheet in the 3-0 victory against Hearts.

The 23-year-old admitted he's gutted for his pal Schmeichel - but he has got belief he can grab the gloves as Celts prepare for the big push towards the Treble.

Sinisalo said: "It was great to play. I was looking forward to it a lot before the game.

"When you get an opportunity to play for this football club, you've got to take it with both hands and hopefully I can do that.

"You've got to have that confidence. I've always been a confident man.

"One coach back in the day always said to me: 'Have confidence to the point of arrogance. Never go above that. You can't be arrogant, but you've got to be confident.
