The 58-year-old Harry Potter author got restrictions placed on the road opposite her 17th-century Edinburgh property to allow a cherry picker to work on the shrubbery.
A set of four-way temporary traffic lights were installed outside her house in the west of the city.
Locals were left furious by the move after their children were late for school due to being held up in traffic.
