The evergreen Wizard of Wishaw, 48, is bidding to become only the fourth player in history to win 10 Triple Crown titles when the event kicks off tomorrow at London's Ally Pally.
Only Ronnie O'Sullivan (22), Stephen Hendry (19) and Steve Davis (15) have achieved the momentous feat.
"Double figures would be lovely," admitted Higgins who beat O'Sullivan in a epic final to land his last Masters in 2006.
"That's an aim before I retire to get to double figures. I'd dearly love to get my hands on another big one.
"I'd dearly love to win another event and join the great players who are winning recently.
