A MUM who lost 13 stone has told how her little girl is now able to hug her properly for the first time.
Gail McKnight, 48, tipped the scales at 27st 10lb at her heaviest and was motivated to lose weight after a type 2 diabetes diagnosis left her fearing for her health.
Tesco worker Gail, from Cambuslang, near Glasgow, was worried she would suffer a heart attack or a stroke if she didn't change her lifestyle.
But the mum of one admits that despite her health giving her the wakeup call she needed, a proper cuddle from her 11-year-old daughter Poppy was the real reward for her weight loss journey.
Gail said: "The most precious moment was when Poppy was finally able to hug me tight.
Her ams didn't fit around my waist for years and when they finally did, it felt so special.
