Mr Versatile hopeful of a Scots slot

My back up plans Luke good

LUKE CROSBIE reckons he could cover three positions for Scotland in the Six Nations - and he doesn't mind which one as long as he gets a starting jersey.

The back-row battler has at times played second fiddle to Edinburgh club-mates Jamie Ritchie and Hamish Watson. But Ritchie has been stripped of the captaincy and Watson is not even in Gregor Townsend's squad for the Championship.

There is still a lot of competition for the No.6, seven and eight jerseys from new co-captain Rory Darge and his Warriors mates Jack Dempsey and Matt Fagerson.

But Crosbie has been on top form so far this season and he hopes his versatility will convince Townsend to pick him in the starting line-up to face Wales in Cardiff a week tomorrow.
