Nearly a million back calls to bin boss' CBE over Horizon scandal

ALMOST a million people have signed a petition demanding former Post Office boss Paula Vennells be stripped of her CBE honour.

The figure 967,153 last night rocketed after ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office, starring Toby Jones as campaigner Alan, highlighted the IT scandal that ruined hundreds of lives.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has confirmed the Government is looking at exonerating all postmasters involved in the Horizon scandal.

His comment came when he was confronted by a victim on the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg programme.

Former sub-postmistress Susan Knight told him on the show yesterday that compensation had been paid at a snail's pace, adding: "Please stop making us still feel like victims. More than 700 Post Office branch managers were handed criminal convictions between 1999 and 2015. They were all overturned, some in 2021 hearings.
