Kevin says wonder goal is up there with his finest as Dons climb bang into contention by ending Hibs' run

KEVIN NISBET admits his wonder winner is up there as the best of his career.

The Scotland striker scored the only goal at Pittodrie as Aberdeen halted Hibs' 17-game unbeaten league streak.

Nisbet took a great touch and sent a controlled volley from distance high into the top left-hand corner of Jordan Smith's net.

It could be massive for the Dons, having pulled them level on points with third-placed Hibs with four games to go.

And proud Nisbet said: "It could be up there with the best goal of my career.

"I just think maybe I'm off balance as well. I just hit it and it's gone in. I'm delighted. As soon as I took it on to my chest and shot, I just knew it was going in.

"Yes, I tried to just go back across the keeper.

I don't think that he's expecting it."

There has been a clamour for Dons to sign the 28-year-old loanee on a permanent basis but financially it would be challenging to take him from Millwall. As for Nisbet, he's focused on the here and now.

And after finishing in style, he wants Aberdeen to do the same in the fight for third as well as next month's Scottish Cup Final with Celtic.
