A TEENAGER suffered a broken neck in a horror crash which left three passengers injured.

Olivia Lauchlan, 19, from Ayr, is recovering from a major emergency operation where surgeons inserted a metal cage into her neck.

Her mum, Tracy, says it is a miracle her daughter wasn't left paralysed after the smash in Alloway last Friday.

She has told of her family's week from hell as they faced an anxious wait for good news, with Olivia going under the knife for eight hours, before being told she will be able to walk again.

Olivia was blue-lighted to a specialist spinal unit at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow following the one-vehicle crash on The Loaning.
