AN ABERDEEN player took off a rival fan's glasses before punching him in the face after being goaded about being sent off.

Funso Ojo admitted "squaring up" to Dundee United supporter Donald Dewar before removing his spectacles, pushing him over and punching his face.

The clash at Tannadice happened after Ojo was controversially sent off during the match for leaving the field of play and approaching spectators.

Ojo told Dundee Justice of the Peace Court he had confronted Dewar on the staircase after he shouted at him.

He said he initially mistook Dewar for a journalist but realised he was a United fan when he heard him shout "you must be s**t to get sent off against United".
