THE death of a two-year-old boy whose body was found curled up beside his dead dad is to be probed.

Officials promise a "rapid review" into the tragedy of Bronson Battersby.

The social worker who discovered the bodies is said to be devastated.

Bronson was found dead at his home on January 9 next to the feet of his 60-year-old father, Ken.

It is thought the toddler starved to death after his dad had a heart attack. Their dog was emaciated but survived.

Bronson's mum, Sarah Piesse, 43, said the lad, who was classed as a vulnerable child, would not have died if social services "had done their job".

She had shared custody of the boy and last saw him just before Christmas.
