Savour a weekend without VAR in the rollercoaster second tier
TECH A BREAK

THE Premiership has gone into cold storage for a few weeks and it gives us all a welcome break from VAR controversies.

With the big boys heading to sunnier climes for training, the only time replays will be pored over is to work out who tipped the gaffer from his sun lounger into the swimming pool.

And if that happens at the Rangers hotel in Spain, it will be interesting to see if Ibrox chiefs demand the audio be released so they can work out who gave the order for Philippe Clement to be plunged into the deep end while smearing sun cream on his napper.

It's all about the lower leagues for the next two weekends and top-flight fans with withdrawal symptoms could do a lot worse than head to their nearest Championship ground.

The second tier was by far the most competitive league in Scotland last term, summed up by the fact all but one of the 10 clubs had something to play for heading into the final round of fixtures.
