STRONGMAN George Byng is celebrating after smashing a world weightlifting record twice - at the age of 87.
The veteran Scot claimed the major feat at the recent British Drug Free Powerlifting single lift competition at the start of this month.
The Greenock lifter, who competed for Scotland in the Commonwealth Games, set a new deadlift best of 112.5kg.
It meant George smashed the record twice for lifts in the 82-89 age group in the 82kg weight class.
