RUSSELL Brand was told there was no room at the inn after turning up at a Stirlingshire pub during the festive season.

The comedian is understood to have spent Hogmanay in Scotland and rented out Broich House in the village of Kippen, about nine miles from Stirling.

The sprawling seven-bedroom mansion, owned by Sir James Hutchison III, is on a private 450-acre country estate and costs £20,000 per week to rent.

Punters at the Cross Keys boozer were shocked after Brand, whose memoir is called My Booky Wook, showed up for lunch on January 1.

The group were told by staff they would have to wait for a table and left.
