Edinburgh's city fathers reached out to Munich in an astonishing act of reconciliation in 1954, less than 10 years after the end of World War II.
Now, Munich police chiefs say that act of kindness formally twinning the cities will be rewarded in the treatment of 100,000 Scots planning to descend on southern Germany for the Euro 2024 championships.
