SIR Tom Jones tapes his mouth shut when he goes to sleep at night.

The pop icon is convinced it helps protect his famous voice.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: "I've been using something on my nose for years to open it up while I'm asleep, but the problem was that I was still breathing through my mouth. I was getting a dry throat.
