IN THE space of about six hours we were given two timely reminders about the brilliance of boxing last weekend.

It has been a tortuous year or so for the sport. From Conor Benn's ongoing debacle and the biggest fights not happening to the bitterness and bickering swarming around seemingly all the time.

It's enough to make the most ardent of supporters turn away from the so-called 'sweet science! But then Joe Cordina, Shavkat Rakhimov, Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia showed just why this sport remains annoyingly addictive.
