IL EST FRANCAIS (2.30 nb) is tipped to take the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase crown back across the Channel in today's showstopper at Kempton.
Twelve months ago, the young French chaser dazzled racegoers with a stunning display to win the Kauto Star Novices' Chase.
He has only run three times since and two of those efforts were disappointing.
But Kempton brought out the best in him and he can bounce back to his brilliant best at around 5-1.
The good ground is similar to last year and he is one of only a few in the race guaranteed to go on it.
If James Reveley can wrestle the lead from L'Homme Presse and The Real Whacker, and get Il Est Francais into a jumping rhythm, he will take some stopping.
