Pep blasts Rodri and ref after sending off

The defensive midfielder saw red inside the first minute of the second half after he shoved Morgan GibbsWhite in the throat during a confrontation between the two near the corner flag.

It left the Blues, who led 2-0 at the time, hanging on as Steve Cooper threw on more and more attacking players, but City survived the onslaught to make it six successive wins to start to the Premier League season.

But while Guardiola said Rodri had to learn to control his emotions after seeing red, he also slammed the performance of referee Anthony Taylor, who booked 10 players in the game as well as dismissing Rodri and cautioning Guardiola himself.
