Jack Davies has been locked up for a campaign of horrendous physical abuse committed against his former partner.
The 21-year-old, from Bolton, has been jailed for three years and eight months. Manchester Crown Court heard he was also violent towards police when he was arrested.
Prosecuting, David Toal said: "Quite simply, this case is about the violent behaviour of the defendant towards her." On March 22, Davies and the woman were together at his mother's house, where they would often stay.
A neighbour heard a knock at the door, and on answering it found it was Davies' partner.
She told the neighbour that Davies had hit her, and asked her to call the police.
