We had to go abroad to get our mosaic miracle

But thanks to fertilisation with an embryo that had a slight genetic defect - which would have been discarded as unviable in the UK the 44-year-old mum has finally achieved her dream.

As she cuddles toddler Stanley, Kirstie says she is grateful to the fertility clinic in Greece that gave her the chance to be a parent with husband Stuart.

"We are just so thankful that we went to Greece for the treatment - otherwise we would never have been parents to Stanley," she said. "It was just the slimmest of chances and they took it, and we are so thankful that they did."

The couple, who live in Northampton, had tried for three years to have a baby.
