Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the latter arrived in Moscow for a two-day visit. Putin is hosting a private dinner for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his dacha (a Russian term for a country house or a cottage) on the outskirts of Moscow, where the two leaders will hold talks with him over a range of issues. This is Modi’s first visit to Russia in nearly five years. He arrived at the Vnukovo-II International Airport in Moscow and was received by First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov.
Notably, Manturov is senior to the Deputy Prime Minister, who received Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Russia. In a rare gesture, Manturov also accompanied the PM to the hotel from the airport in the same car.
