Even as a question mark loomed large over the future of Quad a forum comprising US, India, Japan and Australia -- if there is a change of guard in Washington after the November presidential election, the incumbent host, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed confidence that the Quad is the need of the hour and will last.
US President Joe Biden too concurred saying that the Quad is here to stay; then, as he patted the PM's shoulders, Biden said the forum is in the secure hands of Modi and will go "way beyond November."
After India, the US, Australia and Japan held talks at the Quad Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, President Biden confirmed that India will hold the summit next year.
