Celebration as church is halfway to restoration

A SOUTH East Cornwall church is halfway towards its target to restore the historic building.

St Sampson's Church, at South Hill near Callington, has raised £300,000 of the £600,000 needed for its restoration project to make the church sustainable for the 21st century and beyond by restoring the unique heritage, increasing community use and growing the congregation.

The church will be holding a celebration day, on Sunday, April 7, with a thanksgiving service at 11.15am led by Archdeacon Kelly Betteridge, followed by lunch and an open afternoon at 1.30pm, of tours, talks and exhibits, highlighting the completed works.
