The authority say homelessness in Plymouth is at an all-time high, with record amounts of people approaching the council for housing support.
The council has already set up a Homelessness Recovery Board to not only stop homelessness but help people out of temporary housing.
The details of the crisis, and the council’s efforts to tackle it, were due to be discussed by the council’s performance, finance and customer focus overview and scrutiny committee this week.
Cllr Chris Penberthy, Cabinet member for housing, cooperative development and communities, said: “There’s no dressing this up; the national picture is grim and we have a significant housing crisis on our hands.
