A PLYMOUTH social club are holding a fundraising day tomorrow, Sunday, July 2, for a teenager who suffers from a lifelong condition in which tumours grow on nerves throughout his body.
Connor Walters has faced multiple operations since being diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) in 2015.
But his fighting spirit has seen him continue to attend school and take his GCSE exams recently – which he has had to manage between hospital appointments.
He recently faced a shoulder operation to remove 10 tumours, while he is now preparing for a treatment called Avastin, similar to chemotherapy, to tackle further tumours.
His family have started a fundraising page to help him create some happy memories as well as providing him with a laptop which he can use for a planned college course, as well as being able to watch films while he is in hospital.
To contribute to the fund, The Saltram social club on Salisbury Road in St Judes are holding a day of events on Sunday.
